Bolivian Intermodal Container Lines is a company dedicated to the import and export of various materials via containers.
The system developed for this company generates all the documentation and provides control of the state of each of the shipments.
The system records the general data about departure date, dates of arrival, ports and codes through a field called BL master. This field also allows the generation of reports in PDF ready to be printed in different formats defined by the organization (original, copies, draft, etc.). This field is mainly to collect information relevant to the customs.
The specific description for container and cargo is made in a field called BL son. This field contains only information relevant to the customer. Similarly this area generates reports in PDF ready for printing. Some data are loaded from the BL master and the rest of required data are customizable by users. The information is extremely detailed and allows users of the system to track the exact flow of shipping containers.
The state of the cargo is set in a field called "State of the BL". This field is used only at the level of BL Master. This field also allows sending mail to all stakeholders about the status of containers (if they are on the road, waiting, at the office, etc.). The status of shipments can only be changed in this area.
